In a candid and revealing statement that shook the cricket world, former Indian cricketer Manoj Tiwary has openly criticized the current head coach of India Gautama Gambhirattributing his success and leadership style to strategic public relations and questioning the fairness of the distribution of credit in the team’s achievements.
Manoj Tiwary calls Gautam Gambhir a hypocrite
Tiwary accused Gambhir of hypocrisy and claimed that the current India coach does not practice what he preaches. Tiwary pointed out the disparity in how players are treated based on their affiliations, specifically mentioning that Rohit Sharmawho is from Mumbai, has been given more prominence. Tiwary contrasted this with Jalaj Saxenaa player who performs well but does not receive the same level of recognition or support, as he remains silent rather than speaking up for himself. Through this, Tiwary was highlighting the perceived favoritism and lack of fairness in team selection or representation.
“Gautam Gambhir is a hypocrite. It doesn’t do what it says. The captain (Rohit) is from Mumbai and Abhishek Nayar is from Mumbai. Rohit has been pushed to the forefront. There is no one to speak for Jalaj Saxena. “He performs well but stays quiet.” Tiwary said as quoted by News18.

Gambhir didn’t guide KKR to title alone: Tiwary
Tiwary felt that Gambhir should not be credited solely with leading Calcutta Knights Riders (KKR) to their IPL title win as the success was a collective effort. Tiwary emphasizes that the players like it Jacques Kallis and Sunil NarineAnd he himself also made significant contributions to the team’s success. However, he felt that Gambhir had been given undue credit due to the environment around him and public relations efforts portraying him as the sole hero, overshadowing the team’s collective effort that led to the championship victory.
“Gautam Gambhir did not guide KKR to the title alone as we all acted as a unit. Kallis, Narine and I contributed to the cause. But who took the credit? There is an environment and public relations that allow Gambhir to take all the credit.” Tiwary added.
