Real Madrid has suffered several ACL ruptures in the last 18 months, and currently have two players that are not available due to these injuries: Dani Carvajal and Eder Militao. The latter is expected to return first, since it has been out for a month longer than the Brazilian defender, who suffered the same blow for the second time in two seasons.
Losing Carvajal has been a hammer blow to Real Madrid, although they have faced relatively in their absence. Lucas Vázquez, Federico Valverde and Raul Asencio have been used to the right, but the 33-year-old is the main man in the position when he is fit, although that could change with the expected arrival of Trent Alexander-Arnold.
If it is signed, Alexander-Arnold could not play for Real Madrid in the 2025 Club World Cup, which takes place in the United States next summer. However, Carvajal hopes that he will be available, and Relvade has reported that this is the objective of being established during his recovery period.
Almost four months have passed since Carvajal broke his anterior cross ligament, and it is said that his recovery is going well. However, he will be very tight for him to return in time for the Club World Cup, which begins for Real Madrid on June 18 with his inaugural match against Al Hilal.
That fixed element against the reaters champions of the Saudi Pro League probably would not see Carvajal start, even if it has returned 100%. However, there would be opportunities to appear during the tournament, for which Real Madrid is obliged to be one of the favorites.
It would be very good news that Real Madrid returns in time for the trip to the United States next summer, although club officials will be eager to make sure they don’t hurry to return.
