Barcelona are struggling to register Dani Olmo and Pau Víctor in the next 36 hours, knowing that if they don’t do so, neither of them will be able to play the rest of the season. They are working on several plans to make that happen.
One of them is the judicial suspension of the ‘discharge’ of Olmo and Víctor, which they allege is a violation of the players’ right to work. Their initial case was rejected and they have now submitted it to a different court, with a decision expected today.
The other option is to increase their salary cap, which they would seek to achieve through the sale of assets. The Blaugrana have already sent the contract documents to La Liga to guarantee great speed in the registration of the players. The Catalan giants plan to sell the commercial rights to their VIP boxes at the Camp Nou over the next 20 years to two Qatari companies for around €100 million, according to Marca, although other reports put that figure at €120 million.
The League has already received the documents for the sale of VIP seats at the Spotify Camp Nou. If they give the go-ahead, Barcelona will be able to register Dani Olmo and Pau Víctor. Additionally, they will be under the 1/1 rule. @RamonFuentes74

However, La Liga wants to be very careful with Barcelona. They will require documents that prove the money in Barcelona’s accounts before approving the change in their salary limit and, therefore, the signings of Olmo and Víctor. Barcelona believes that the agreement could be closed today, but not 100%, although both parties have already signed the main contract.
It makes sense for La Liga to be careful with these deals, given that Barça Vision’s sales have seen the Blaugrana take only €40 million of the €200 million they were supposed to receive. These agreements have been making a hole in their salary limit since then, after a year in which the Blaugrana had to suffer losses. A broader question worth asking is whether selling assets for a single star signing is value for money.
