Juventus and Arsenal discover the asking price of Barcelona’s Ronald Araujo

Barcelona have made no progress on renewing Ronald Araujo’s contract in the last 12 months, and while that deal appears to be going nowhere, it has opened up a route out of the club. Summer has been set as the deadline to close a new deal, or the Blaugrana will look to sell him.

Juventus reportedly have an agreement with Ronald Araujo on a personal level and their interest could alter the situation. Relevo explains that there has been no formal contact between both clubs, but that the contract renewal with Barcelona is stalled.

The information from Radio Barcelona seems to corroborate this. They say that in January 2024 Barcelona made an offer to Araujo and received no response. After suffering his injury in the summer with Uruguay, he received an offer again, but Barcelona did not receive a response. Asked about him, Araujo explained that he is happy to stay at Barcelona and the Blaugrana say that they really want to keep him, but there has been no progress.

Despite this position, Barcelona will consider offers for him, amid interest from Juventus. They go on to say that if Araujo pushes for him to leave, the Blaugrana will also take that into account and offers of between 60 and 70 million euros will be considered.

In Italy, it has been reported that Juventus are looking for a loan with an obligation to purchase, which could be an obstacle, but it seems possible to negotiate it. A bigger problem for the Bianconeri may be reported interest from Arsenal, with Araujo apparently preferring a move from the Premier League to Serie A.
