Barcelona president Joan Laporta has set himself on a new collision course with La Liga in 2025.
Barcelona’s outspoken boss has criticized La Liga over the Dani Olmo signing debacle that has dominated the headlines in recent weeks.
After a sustained legal battle, Barcelona have been granted a temporary reprieve in the matter with Olmo and Pau Víctor available for the remainder of the campaign.
The League will appeal the decision of the Higher Sports Council (CSD) and numerous clubs will express their frustration over the exemption.
Barcelona has both players available for the Spanish Super Cup final against Real Madrid tomorrow, but the situation could change again in February.
Laporta celebrated the call of the CSD before directors of La Liga and the RFEF in Jeddah and is ready to fight with them again in the courts.
“The Super Cup has been surrounded by controversy that could have been avoided if things had been done differently. The fact is that it is already solved and you will be able to play.. From Barça’s point of view we are satisfied,” Marca quotes.
The League has not yet confirmed the timetable for its appeal against the CSD and the RFEF is expected to back its case.
