Getafe interested in a double blow in the Premier League, including the Tottenham Hotspur defender

Getafe have one of the strongest defenses in La Liga, but still languish in 17th place, just outside the relegation zone. The Azulones have struggled to score goals this season and coach José Bordalás has expressed his frustration at the lack of options in his squad on several occasions.

President Ángel Torres seems reluctant to spend a lot in January and will therefore look for cheaper options. Superdeporte says it is interested in Sergio Reguilón from Tottenham Hotspur. The former Sevilla and Real Madrid left-back is yet to play this season, and a loan move could be on the cards in January before his contract expires in the summer.

The same media also points out that Getafe could also sign former striker Enes Unal. Since moving to Bournemouth for €16.5m, Unal has had issues with Andoni Iraola. He has only played 10 games in the Premier League this season, and of them he has only played 172 minutes. He could be allowed to leave on loan, and the Turkish striker was lethal for two seasons between 2021 and 2023.

Borja Mayoral’s ongoing injury problems have robbed Bordalás of their main source of goals, with Bertug Yildirim and Álvaro Rodríguez struggling to catch up so far. Mayoral is expected to be back to full fitness soon, but it will be difficult to say in what form given he has been largely sidelined since March. So far this season, Getafe has scored just 10 goals in 15 La Liga games.
