Whatever plans Barcelona had for the January transfer market, they have been shattered by the drama surrounding the signings of Dani Olmo and Pau Víctor. However, next week has been defined as decision-making time for sports director Deco.
Deco will meet with Hansi Flick next week to discuss his plans and make a final decision on the future of Eric García and Ansu Fati. However, unless Olmo and Víctor are registered, there will be no departure from the club.
News that could upset García. Following reports of a €10m deal for him to return to Girona, where he spent last season on loan, Diario AS say the Catalan defender would like to return north and reunite with coach Michel Sánchez. On the other hand, Ansu Fati is desperate to stay at the club, despite his lack of minutes.

The Blaugrana striker has yet to score this season, nor in the last calendar year, but returned disappointed from his experience on loan at Brighton and Hove Albion last season. He will strive to stay at the club and try to change things.
For Barcelona, Ansu represents a big problem in a short squad. Unable to influence the scoresheet, he clearly does not have Flick’s trust and yet he is paid by a superstar. His wages have also made him an unattainable target for many clubs in Europe who could also try to revive his career.
