Ravi Shastri picks India’s most underrated ICC performer
Former India head coach Ravi Shastri has revealed his choice as India’s most underrated player in ICC events: Shikhar Dhawan. Speaking to Sanjana Ganesan in a video shared by the ICC, Shastri highlighted Dhawan’s notable contributions to India’s success in global tournaments, particularly the Champions Trophy.
“I think Shikhar Dhawan’s batting in the Champions Trophy over the years, whenever he played, was outstanding. The way he learned his game for the big events was a highlight for me.” Shastri said.
Acknowledging the attention that often falls on India’s superstar players, Shastri emphasized that Dhawan has flown under the radar despite being a key player.
“There is always talk about the great players of the Indian team, the superstars and he goes unnoticed. You know, in the big events he was a fantastic player. You know, I remember a lot of their races in the Champions Trophy. “He really was one of the stars of the Champions Trophy, the World Cup and the ICC tournaments.” Shastri added.
