Borussia Dortmund star Karim Adeyemi will return for the UEFA Champions League clash against Barcelona on December 11.
The Germany international has been out of action since October 1, after being taken off in the second half of Dortmund’s 7-1 win over Celtic, despite scoring a hat-trick in the first half.
Following tests carried out on the injury, the Bundesliga giants confirmed a muscle tear that was initially only expected to keep him out of action for two or three weeks.
However, after numerous setbacks, his return date was delayed amid the 22-year-old’s frustration.
Dortmund host Barcelona in midweek, with both teams taking 12 points from their first five games of the league stage, and Adeyemi is in line for a crucial return.
Coach Nuri Sahin confirmed his return to training and the former midfielder said he was “impressed” by his rapid readaptation, according to Mundo Deportivo.
A late decision will be made on whether he is fit enough to start against La Blaugrana, where a win for either team will likely seal an automatic place in the knockout stages in 2025.
