Barcelona presents the case for the registration of Dani Olmo: it will sell assets for 80 million euros less depending on the result

Barcelona appears calm with the signings of Dani Olmo and Pau Víctor, who must re-register for the second half of the season in the next eight days, or they will not be able to play the remainder of the season. In Olmo’s case, that would mean being able to leave the club for free as well.

However, Sport say they are calm, as are the players, as they have plans in place. Today they filed a court case, in which they claim that Olmo and Víctor’s right to work should prevail over any league regulations. They did the same with Gavi after he signed a new contract, and the decision will be made on December 27.

The difference is that La Liga will defend itself in this case, unlike the Gavi case. Barcelona approved a new sponsorship deal with Nike and felt it would be enough to increase their salary cap to register both following La Liga’s advice. However, Barcelona believes that the pressure from Sevilla, Atlético de Madrid and Athletic Club on La Liga president Javier Tebas has manifested itself.

Tebas have allegedly been asked to clamp down on loopholes allowing Barcelona to sign up players, and the Catalan giants suspect that is the problem behind the change in tone.
