This Tuesday, Barcelona will request a precautionary measure from the Ministry of Sports (CSD) to keep Dani Olmo and Pau Víctor registered for the remainder of the season. However, they will do so through the emergency route, since they consider that it gives them a better opportunity to obtain that preventive registration.
Olmo and Víctor are currently free to sign with other clubs and, as things stand, cannot play the rest of the season with Barcelona. The League and the RFEF rejected their request for licenses on Saturday, which means that the Catalan team will try to obtain the suspension of that measure first through the CSD and then through the courts.

According to Sport, they will request an emergency suspension due to the loss of Olmo and Víctor, instead of a simple suspension, both precautionary measures. The nuance between the two is that with the first the case will be processed urgently, and the Blaugrana can expect a response from the courts in one or two days. Beyond the speed of the response, the advantage is that Barcelona will present its arguments, and since it is an urgent case, LaLiga and the RFEF lawyers will not be able to present a counterargument, as they did in the previous two. court rulings at the end of December.
If Barcelona wins the case it is essentially redundant, as they only need the injunction to keep Olmo and Víctor registered until the summer. The precautionary suspension of dismissal would be granted on the basis that the players could be harmed in the time it takes to resolve the case if the case goes in favor of Barcelona, so they would be allowed to play matches in the meantime.

Barcelona believes it has a chance of success, although it also admits that it is unusual for the CSD to contradict the RFEF in cases like this. If Barcelona are unable to obtain a precautionary suspension of the matter through the CSD, they will have to take the matter to court, but will summon Olmo and Víctor for their Spanish Super Cup trip to Saudi Arabia in the hope that it will be granted.
Either way, the consequences have become a matter of state for Barcelona, as the saying goes. The opposition to president Joan Laporta demanded his resignation, while on Sunday it emerged that AC Milan had made an approach to Dani Olmo, which could mean his departure for six months. Olmo and Víctor have expressed their desire to remain at the club, but whether they can play football is out of their and Barcelona’s hands at the moment.
