Argentine duo to leave Seville in January as FC Porto and River Plate prepare moves

Sevilla will be busy during the 2025 winter transfer window, which opens next week. They intend to sign at least one new winger and also a forward, although there are also expected to be multiple departures.

It will be on the side where this will happen, with a guaranteed exit for Valentín Barco. The youngster has struggled to earn a starting place since signing on loan from Brighton and Hove Albion in the summer and, according to Edu Burgos, he will be called up again before being sent to FC Porto.

His compatriot Gonzalo Montiel will also leave Ramón Sánchez-Pizjuán next month, despite Sevilla already losing a right-back option in the retired Jesús Navas. According to Diario AS, River Plate is working to bring him back to Argentina.

Sevilla will be able to save valuable salaries with these two departures, if they really occur. Sports director Víctor Orta will surely be very busy over the next few weeks, there is no doubt about that.
