West Indies reveal full schedule for women’s white-ball home series against Bangladesh

West Indies Cricket (CWI) has revealed the calendar of the Bangladesh The women’s team’s upcoming tour of the West Indies, marking a major event in the women’s cricket calendar. The tour, set on the picturesque island of St. Kitts, will include a series of white-ball matches aimed at strengthening both teams’ preparation for future international engagements.

The tour includes six matches, with three One-Day Internationals (ODIs) and three T20 Internationals (T20Is), all of which will be held at the iconic Warner Park in Basseterre, St. Kitts. The ODIs are part of the ICC Women’s Championship, making them crucial for both teams in their quest to qualify for the upcoming Women’s Cricket World Cup.

Importance for qualification

For the West Indies, the WODI series is of particular importance as they look to rack up points in the ICC Women’s Championship. A good performance here could ensure automatic qualification for the World Cup, although there is still a chance through a qualification tournament for teams that do not qualify directly.

“This series against Bangladesh is crucial for us as we continue our campaign in the ICC Women’s 50+ Championship 2025. The ODI series carries significant weight for our World Cup qualification hopes, while the T20I matches will provide valuable preparation to as we continue to strengthen our team.” said the CWI Director of Cricket. Preparation and expectations

Both teams will have access to dedicated practice sessions, scheduled in the mornings, afternoons and some evenings, to ensure they are well prepared for matches. These sessions are crucial for players to adapt to the conditions and for coaches to fine-tune strategies.

The Bangladesh team will arrive in St. Kitts on January 14, giving them enough time to acclimatise to the local conditions before the series begins.
