Barcelona’s sporting director, Deco, has assured that star signing Dani Olmo will be available for the second half of the season, despite doubts over his registration. He also wasn’t particularly happy with the line of questioning.
The last few weeks at Can Barça have been dominated by doubts about where Barcelona will find the money to sign the 26-year-old playmaker. At first they resorted to the emergency injury rule, taking advantage of the additional salary margin that Andreas Christensen’s Achilles problem gave them. However, with the Danish defender recovering, Barcelona will have to register Olmo without that assignment, and if he does not do so before December 31, he will not be able to play after December 31.
Ferran: “I don’t care about the criticism, I don’t read it. I imagine I receive a lot of criticism, but I’m only interested in my family and my closest circle.”

Before Barcelona’s clash against Borussia Dortmund in the Champions League, Deco was vehement about it and did not accept being repeatedly asked about it.
“We will register it, without a doubt. The club is working on it and we will solve everything. Don’t worry about that”.
“It’s an internal matter… Don’t worry, we will solve it,” Deco repeated, and then they asked him about Olmo himself.
“Yes, without a doubt. We are working on it, we are calm and we will fix it. He is relaxed, don’t worry.”

“The player is calm, don’t worry,” he said, now visibly irritated. After a new question about Olmo, Deco decided that that was the end of the topic.
“We came here to talk about football. About better things. About the game.” The interview with Movistar+ ended with a question about January’s business in the transfer market.
“For the moment, we will not talk about that,” Deco stated, in an awkward exchange.
Olmo reportedly has a clause in his contract that allows him to leave for free in January if he doesn’t sign up in time. The Blaugrana are believed to be struggling to find additional sources of income to increase their salary cap and allow them to do so.
