Two forwards offered to Barcelona after change in strategy and reality of Erling Haaland

Barcelona maintains that its main objective for next summer is the left wing position, but there are increasing doubts about whether it can afford not to invest in the number nine position.

Robert Lewandowski’s problems over the past two months have once again raised the question of whether they should continue with the Polish striker next season, a question that was posed at the end of last season.

According to Sport, Barcelona have accepted that the impossible dream of signing Erling Haaland is just that: impossible. However, there are options on the table. The Blaugrana have been offered Liverpool striker Darwin Núñez and Napoli player Victor Osimhen in the last six months.

The other name that attracts Barcelona sporting director Deco is Sporting CP striker Viktor Gyokeres. However, like Haaland, there are doubts over whether they could afford the Swedish striker. The only major change is that Barcelona had previously considered opting for a younger striker like Jonathan David to back up Lewandowski, but they are now approaching an all-or-nothing strategy: Lewandowski or a top scorer.

Barcelona are reportedly considering selling more assets to fund their transfer business, although in the end it may simply be to register Dani Olmo and Pau Victor. The problem for the Blaugrana is that without big sales on the horizon, it’s difficult to see how any more big changes will fit into their salary cap.
