The 23-year-old defender “has three possibilities” of signing for Real Madrid next summer

It will be very interesting to closely follow the situation of Real Madrid’s left back ahead of the 2025-26 season. As things stand, Ferland Mendy and Fran García will be the options at Carlo Ancelotti’s disposal, although it is very possible that all three will not be at the club at the end of next summer.

Real Madrid are currently pursuing the signing of Alphonso Davies, and if they sign him, it is almost certain that one of Mendy or García will leave. However, there are doubts about the Canadian because he seems closer to renewing at Bayern Munich.

According to Relevo, Davies remaining at Bayern would open the door for Miguel Gutiérrez to return to Real Madrid. The 23-year-old can return to the Santiago Bernabeu for just €8m and, according to the report, could even join Davies if Garcia were to join Premier League side AFC Bournemouth.

Another avenue for Gutiérrez could be the arrival of Xabi Alonso as coach. The former Galactico has been strongly linked with Ancelotti’s successor, and is known to have featured younger players during his time at Bayer Leverkusen; could take this to Real Madrid, which would benefit Gutiérrez.
