Real Madrid teenager faces vile racial abuse after clash with Liverpool

Real Madrid youngster Endrick Felipe has only been in European football for six months and has already seen its ugliest side. The Brazilian teenager has been subjected to racial abuse, among other appalling comments, over the past two weeks.

Endrick came into the game for the final 11 minutes of Los Blancos’ 2-0 loss to Liverpool, but was involved in an unfortunate accident in which defender Ibrahima Konate was injured. That ruled him out for several weeks, including the crucial Premier League clash against Manchester City, which the Reds ended up winning 2-0.

However, Sport assures that many Liverpool fans have not let Endrick forget it. His social media posts, especially one made shortly before the clash with Liverpool, have seen some appalling abuse directed at the striker, who turned 18 in July. Many of them wished for a serious injury for Endrick, while many more called the Brazilian a monkey.

Racial abuse has been on the rise in Spanish football, but Champions League nights have been a much less problematic affair as a general rule. However, this latest incident is another terrible chapter.
