Real Madrid receives positive response from Arsenal star for interest

Real Madrid has two of its three best centre-backs in their thirties, and the third is out this season due to a second cruciate ligament injury in the last two years. Although local media assure that it is not a priority position for next summer, the white team is examining the market in search of possible options.

One of the players they like is Arsenal defender William Saliba. The French international has become a thorn in Mikel Arteta’s backline, and Sport say that not only has he passed all the filters to be a top-level signing, but he has also received a positive response from his team regarding a possible transfer. . Saliba has a contract until 2027, and the Catalan newspaper explains that he will ask for a transfer if Los Blancos present a huge offer, of around 100 million euros or more. Arsenal, for their part, are not interested in a sale.

However, the Gunners will have to consider their options over the next six months. If they cannot sign a new contract with Saliba next year, they risk losing him at a reduced price, or even having Saliba run out of his contract. If they don’t believe a deal can be reached with him, a sale this summer would make sense, although as Los Blancos have shown of late, they generally prefer players to discuss their deals before agreeing a deal.
