Real Betis want to strengthen their midfield in the January transfer market due to a series of injuries in recent months, with Williams Carvalho out for most of the year. Real Madrid’s Dani Ceballos looks set to be too expensive, but they are turning their attention to a former Barcelona midfielder.
According to Italian journalist Nicolo Schira, Arthur Melo has started talks with Real Betis for a transfer in January. Juventus are interested in Arthur heading to Sevilla on loan with an option to buy for €12m at the end of the season. Meanwhile, Betis are organizing a possible four-year contract. Valencia is also interested, but it seems that they are from the outside looking in.

Arthur has struggled for consistency since joining Barcelona and moving to Europe. After a nondescript spell on loan at Liverpool, the Brazilian showed just how good he can be at Fiorentina last season. However, at Juventus he has fallen down the pecking order again, but Manuel Pellegrini has a good hand at getting the best out of technically gifted midfielders.
