Real Madrid is having fun at this point against fourth division Deportiva Minera, in its first match in Cartagena. Luka Modric has added the fourth for Carlo Ancelotti’s team.
There was never any indication that Los Blancos might struggle in their Copa del Rey debut against Minera, and Fede Valverde put his team firmly in control after just six minutes with a beautiful volley. Eduardo Camavinga doubled their lead with a header before the 15th minute, and less than 15 minutes later, Real Madrid got the third thanks to Arda Guler, ending the tie.
In the second half Valverde had a rare break, replacing Dani Ceballos at half-time. Los Blancos continued to advance, and Modric actually stopped when he curled a beautiful shot into the corner of the net. Minutes later, the 39-year-old would emerge, the oldest player in the club’s history and its oldest goalscorer.
