Former Indian cricketer calls India white-ball bullies
Former Indian cricketer Mohamed Kaifwho has played 125 ODIs and 13 Tests, was quite explicit in his assessment during a post-series analysis. Kaif acknowledged India’s dominance in white-ball cricket and labeled the team as “white-ball thugs” but pointed out shortcomings in adapting to the challenging conditions of Test cricket.
Kaif highlighted that the team struggles to turn on tracks at home and in the best conditions abroad, especially in Australia, underscoring the urgency of building a strong test team that can compete at the highest level in all conditions. .

“I’m telling you the truth. What happened was good. Now it’s time to work on our Test cricket. Everyone will say that we are champions in the white ball. But if India wants to win the World Test Championship (WTC), we need to build a strong Test team. We have to learn to play on curved tracks; In Australia we will have to learn to play in seam conditions. The truth is that we are nothing more than white-ball thugs. “We are falling too far behind,” Kaif said in a video shared on her X timeline (formerly Twitter).
Kaif further highlighted the importance of domestic cricket in preparing players for Test success. He urged players to prioritize matches on courts with twists and seams to develop the skills needed to thrive in varied conditions. Without this preparation and focus on domestic cricket, Kaif warned, India would still fail to achieve its WTC aspirations.
“If we have to win the WTC, the players will have to give importance to domestic cricket. They need to play on the tracks that rotate; They will have to practice on the sewing courts; Otherwise, we won’t be able to win.” Kaif added.
