England test cricket captain, ben stokeshas been sidelined from all forms of cricket for at least three months following a tear to his left hamstring, a setback confirmed by the England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB). The injury occurred during the third Test against New Zealand earlier this month, which England ultimately lost by 423 runs, despite winning the series 2-1.
Notably, the 33-year-old was forced to leave the field on day 3 of the match after launching a rebound that was stopped by four for Rachin Ravindra. This incident marked the second time this year that Stokes has suffered a torn left hamstring, having previously injured it during The Hundred in August. The ECB confirmed that Stokes would undergo surgery in January, ruling him out of England’s tour of India and the Champions Trophy in early 2025.
