Dani Olmo and Pau Víctor gave up Barcelona’s waiting game while Lamine Yamal sends a message

Barcelona appears to be falling into a live institutional crisis, after La Liga issued a statement declaring that the club had not made any agreement that would allow it to register new players. It has left Dani Olmo and Pau Víctor in a complicated situation.

Both have been removed from the La Liga website and replaced by Andreas Christensen, instead being registered due to an emergency injury rule. Barcelona maintains that he will be registered, but as things stand, neither of them will be able to play the remainder of the season with Barcelona.

When the new year arrived, Olmo posted a photo with his partner that simply said 2025 with blue and red love hearts next to it, referencing the colors of Barcelona. Below that post, teammate Íñigo Martínez posted a clock emoji, referencing Olmo’s celebration imitating Dame Lillard’s in the NBA. For his part, Lamine Yamal commented ‘dani olmo is a culerrrrr’.

Sport says that both players are resigned to waiting and hoping that Barcelona will keep their word of being registered. However, their agents will now have to look for alternative opportunities for the second half of the season, even if they both wish to stay at the club. In particular, in the case of Olmo, he has a clause in his contract that allows him to leave for free with his entire €48 million contract paid if he is not registered.
