Chelsea see an offer of 15 million euros for the 22-year-old Spanish star rejected

Deportivo La Coruña seem determined to keep their crown jewel until the summer, and winger Yeremay Hernández isn’t going anywhere anytime soon. The 22-year-old winger has been attracting interest all season after his adaptation to the Second Division went smoothly, scoring 8 goals and providing 3 assists this season.

According to Fabrizio Romano, Chelsea have received an offer of 15 million euros for Yeremay, rejected by Deportivo. Their intention was to include him in their group of clubs, with a loan at least to Strasbourg on the horizon. However, Dépor believe they have convinced Yeremay to stay at least until the end of the season, when they would be more open to an exit.

That said, the game is still in Chelsea’s hands. Yeremay’s current contract, valid until 2030, contains a €20m release clause, and if the Blues can convince the young talent to move then they only need to increase their offer by €5m. It is not the first offer that Chelsea has rejected, and Romano also mentions other offers for Yeremay from Italy.

Napoli and Como are the Serie A teams that were interested in him, while Newcastle United and Manchester City have also evaluated the difficult winger. In Spain, Las Palmas has publicly declared its interest in repatriating the Canary, but given interest from larger parties, it may struggle to compete financially, either now or in the summer.

Certainly, if the alternative is an immediate move to Chelsea or Strasbourg, then staying at Deportivo may be best for the Spanish under-21 talent. Currently, Yeremay starts each week in front of a packed stadium of 20,000 to 28,000 fans, and it is worth remembering that this is still his first full season in professional football. Likewise, there is very likely money on the table that will change lives.
