The first half was quite busy, with chances for both sides, but neither team managed to find the net. Universitário, playing at home, went forward and created good opportunities with Andy Polo and Segundo Portocarrero, but was hampered by the good performance of goalkeeper John.

In the final stage, Botafogo managed to be more effective and opened the scoring with Jeffinho, who took advantage of Jefferson Savarino’s pass and crossed the ball, with no chance for Sebastián Britos. Despite the final pressure from the home team, Glorioso held on to their advantage and secured the three important points away from home.
