Barcelona will sell assets for 120 million euros to retain Dani Olmo

Barcelona will sanction the sale of more assets to be able to register Dani Olmo and Pau Víctor for the second half of the season. After a court decision rejected their motion to allow them to play in the second half of the season, Barcelona must increase their salary cap by €60 million in order to register them.

The Blaugrana are set to file a new motion against La Liga to allow Olmo and Victor to remain registered beyond their injury allowance they were granted in August. However, Sport affirms that the court decision, unless its appeal is successful, will mean the sale of the rights to market its VIP boxes at the Camp Nou.

Initially the figure for the rights to market its boxes over the next 20 years was quoted at 200 million euros, but the real figure will finally be close to 120 million euros. Clearly, it deprives Barcelona of a source of income during that period as well. They have until the end of December 31 to resolve the matter, and if they don’t, Olmo has a clause in his contract that allows him to leave for free.

For much of the year, president Joan Laporta had explained that his new sponsorship deal with Nike would resolve his salary cap issues, but Barcelona are once again facing a loss of income due to the board’s financial miscalculations. directive. Over the last two seasons, Laporta has claimed that his problems with the salary limit would be limited to history, but Barcelona has sold 25% of its television rights for a period of 25 years, 49.5% of Barça Vision, and has signed a sponsorship deal until 2038, and it looks like we’re going to do more business.
