Barcelona president Joan Laporta has confirmed that the return to Camp Nou will not occur before March, but there are fears it could be delayed by another 10 months beyond his initial return date.
In his speech at Barcelona’s Christmas lunch for the press, Laporta explained that they are working to be back in the round of 16 of the Champions League. If Barcelona finishes in the play-off places it will be at the beginning of February, if they qualify in the top eight it will be in March.
“We are making the new Spotify Camp Nou a reality, which continues to advance with some unexpected new features. We will not return until the first phase of the Champions League is over, but we are working to have the right conditions [to do so]“Laporta explained.
Premier League giants Arsenal and Liverpool have inquired about Raphinha’s situation. Manchester City has done it too. However, as of today, the chances of the Brazilian moving this summer seem slim. @TNTbr pic.twitter.com/aXNk3txSSH

According to Sport, that could be decisive in his return. The decision will be made in early March if they qualify in the top eight, and sooner if they finish in the play-off places. Those at the club are pessimistic and believe that the return could be in September 2025, next season.
That would represent a significant loss of income for Barcelona in the additional matchday income that the Camp Nou provides, while it would also begin to have to negotiate compensation for music promoters and extend its rental agreement with Barcelona City Council to also remain at Montjuic.
UEFA does not allow teams to change stadiums mid-phase and, therefore, if Barcelona does not return to the Camp Nou in March, it will not be able to do so in Europe until next season. Laporta also confirmed in the past that Barcelona would not go between Montjuïc and the Camp Nou at the same time. Barcelona were originally due to return to the Camp Nou in November this year, but the date has already been pushed back twice.
