Since replacing Xavi Hernández as Barcelona coach in the summer, Hansi Flick has chosen to look inward in his team’s planning. Numerous La Masia talents have been called up to the first team throughout the season, and players such as Marc Casado, Marc Bernal and Gerard Martín have earned permanent places in the squad.
More could follow in the coming months, and one player who would be in contention is Jan Virgili. The 18-year-old winger has been in great form for Barcelona’s U19 team this season, and that continued earlier this week when he scored a Lionel Messi-esque solo goal against Borussia Dortmund in the UEFA Youth League.

According to Sport, Flick is closely monitoring Virgili’s development as he is one of the players who caught his eye in the club’s youth set-up.
Virgili is a left winger and this is a relatively open position in Barcelona’s first team, apart from the starting position, which belongs to Raphinha. Given this, the teenager could have chances of promotion at some point this season.
