Atl de Madrid closes the gap for the title with the victory of Real Betis in Villarreal

Atlético de Madrid 1-0 Getafe

Atlético de Madrid extended their incredible streak to 11 consecutive victories in all competitions, surpassing neighbors Getafe.

Samuel Lino wasted two chances in the first half, before substitute Alexander Sorloth struck from the bench at half-time, to head the hosts in front in the 69th minute.

All eyes are now focused on their trip to Catalonia next weekend where there could be a change at the top.

Alavés 1-1 Athletic Club

It was an honor even in the Basque derby played in Vitoria-Gasteiz, in which Alavés sealed a point at home against Athletic Club.

The visitors took the early lead in Unai Gómez Shot at the lower corner of the Mendizorroza Stadium.

La Real dominated from the start when Martín Zubimendi hit the crossbar before the visitors recovered.

Both goalkeepers were busy at all times, as Mikel Oyarzabal and Sandro Ramirez Both hit the crossbar, but neither could find a way through.

Villarreal 1-2 Real Betis

Villarreal’s recent miserable run continued as they lost 2-1 at home to Real Betis.

First half of contrasts for the visitors, since Vítor Roque headed in and Chimy Ávila was sent off before the break.

Giovani Lo Celso scored a brilliant free kick to make it 2-0 after the restart, before Villarreal sealed a late consolation thanks to a superb finish from Alex Baena.
