Why Barcelona are not worried about Bayern Munich’s possible pursuit of Nico Williams

Rumors about Nico Williams’ future have been greatly exaggerated, but the Basque winger continues to be the subject of attention from several important clubs in Europe. Whether he intends to join them or not, Williams’ future will be a major topic of conversation next summer.

The Athletic winger has a release clause of 58 million euros and, after a failed attempt last summer, Barcelona will return for him next year. Paris Saint-Germain was another of his suitors, but Sport assures that Barcelona has had no signs of life from the French giant. Meanwhile, it has been reported in both Spain and Germany that Bayern Munich are interested in signing him.

According to Sport, his interest is not focused exclusively on Barcelona. The Catalans are confident that if Williams leaves Bilbao, they will have priority over other clubs.

Previous reports have noted that Barcelona have made it a condition of joining them that Williams prioritizes their offer. The Catalans still have to resolve their salary limit situation, but the local press assures that they will not increase their offer from last season if they do so.
