The Real Madrid star loses the support of president Florentino Pérez: “To avoid problems in the future…”

Real Madrid returned home from Bergamo happy with their victory over Atalanta in the Champions League, a victory that probably puts their place in the round of 16 beyond doubt. However, one of Real Madrid’s stars might be a little less comfortable.

It was announced that manager Carlo Ancelotti had finally found the right formula for Real Madrid, with Jude Bellingham behind Vinicius Junior and Kylian Mbappé. Another of the headlines was that it was the first time that Bellingham, Mbappé and Vinicius scored together, the clear trident of stars. That obviously leaves out Rodrygo Goes, who replaced Mbappé after his injury.

That feeling was confirmed this Thursday by Cadena SER, which reported that Rodrygo Goes no longer has the support of the president of Real Madrid, Florentino Pérez. Previously, Rodrygo has always been Perez’s favorite, considered something of a golden boy, and as such has always had plenty of opportunities to prove himself.

However, with his form not living up to expectations in 2024, the Spanish broadcaster explains that “to avoid problems in the future, he must take a step forward.”

Rodrygo has always rejected the idea that he would be interested in leaving, with many wondering what his place is in the team following Mbappé’s arrival. However, Manchester City and Liverpool have been reported to have been interested in him for some time. While his season has been affected by injuries, Rodrygo has just 3 goals and 2 assists in 18 appearances.
