The conversation with Lucas Vázquez caught on camera generates concern after the clash with Real Madrid

The sight of players covering their mouths to protect themselves from lip readers is a familiar sight these days, and Lucas Vázquez received a sharp reminder of his value this week. His conversation with Isi Palazón after Rayo Vallecano’s 3-3 draw with Real Madrid has generated concern in Vallecas.

After the game, in images captured by DAZN, Vázquez is seen talking to Isi. The Real Madrid right back appeared asking for one of the Rayo players. Isi, according to Marca, responded as follows.

“It’s screwed, but oh well. Good luck, man,” Palazón said before Vázquez responded again. “He hasn’t come. It’s been a while. We are helping him, man, but he has gone crazy,” Isi explained.

Many have speculated about the possible topic of the conversation. Colombian star James Rodríguez has not appeared in La Liga in the last month and has played just 205 minutes all season. When asked about James before the clash with Real Madrid, manager Íñigo Pérez responded that he could not answer why the 33-year-old was not in the squad.

The most likely topic of conversation seems to be striker Raúl de Tomás. The former Real Madrid striker has only played in the Copa del Rey once this season and was not in the squad either. Last week, Rayo president Raúl Martín Presa told the press that De Tomás was injured, but that it was not a physical problem.
