Simon Katich shares strategy to tackle Bumrah
Katich advocated that the Australian batsmen focus on keeping the scoreboard moving with singles and doubles rather than looking for boundary options against Bumrah. By not allowing you to establish a rhythm, they could alter your line and length. The former Australian player highlighted the need for impeccable defensive technique.
“All the talk is about having a more positive intention, and I think that’s very good, but against someone like Bumrah, the intention is not to attack him for fours because he doesn’t bowl many bad balls. A lot of that intent has to do with the rotation of the attack and the ability to defend very well, because you won’t be able to play with any intent if you’re not there after the final tenth.” Katich said when speaking on SEN 1116.
