The incident occurred when Ashwin, who is very active on social media platform X after his retirement, received a comment on one of his posts that read: “Australia thought they could sweep us away” the account with a username @nishitha018 he commented. However, since the account had used Ritika’s name and photo, Ashwin thought that she was indeed Rohit’s wife and gave an instant reply to the comment.

“Hello Ritika, how are you? Greetings to the little one and his family.” Ashwin responded on the impersonator’s post. The user continued to be Ritika and enjoyed the traction she had received online following a response from Ashwin. “I’m good Ashwin Anna” he responded again. However, at that moment, Ashwin realized that it was a fake account and deleted the entire conversation.

Ritika and Rohit welcomed a baby boy

In his response to the impersonator, Ashwin hinted that he would send his wishes to the youngest member of Rohit’s family. The couple welcomed a baby boy in November 2024, their second child after being blessed with a baby girl, Samaira, in 2018. Rohit opted out of the first match of the Border-Gavaskar Trophy in Perth and did not travel with the Indian team to Australia to be with his wife. The 37-year-old joined the team in Adelaide for the second Test match. Rohit confirmed the birth of his second child in a social media post with the caption: “The FAMILY, the one in which there are four of us.” The Indian captain also mentioned a date. 15.11.2024 to confirm the birth of your newborn.
