Mohamed Salah has remained secretive about the prospect of his Liverpool team-mate Trent Alexander-Arnold joining Real Madrid.
The pair are in the final six months of their contracts at Anfield alongside captain Virgil van Dijk.
The club is working on renewal offers for all three, but time is running out for the Premier League leaders.
Salah, Alexander-Arnold and Van Dijk are eligible to enter pre-contract talks with non-English clubs as alternative options.
Real Madrid are pushing hard to secure their long-standing interest in Alexander-Arnold on a transfer, but Salah’s next move is unknown.
The Egypt international was quick to play down reports that he is considering a move to La Liga, amid reports that he is learning Spanish, and admitted that Alexander-Arnold is not giving anything away.
“I’m just learning the language a little and I can say things like ‘how are you?’ but that does not mean that I am thinking about living in Spain,” he told TNT Sports, via Mundo Deportivo.
“Trent is not very talkative. [about his plans]”He’s crazy and I love him very much.”
Liverpool are hoping to reach a resolution before the end of January but are unlikely to sanction the sale of Alexander-Arnold to Real Madrid this month.
