Ahead of the much-awaited clash, former Pakistan pacer Mohamed Amir has made a bold prediction about the winner of the upcoming clash between India and Pakistan. The much-awaited match, scheduled for February 23, 2025 at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium, promises to be one of the most exciting encounters of the tournament.

Mohammad Amir predicts winner of Indo-Pak clash

In a recent conversation, Amir expressed confidence in Pakistan’s recent form, citing their consecutive series wins against Australia and South Africa as indicators of its growing strength. He emphasized the team’s ability to perform in challenging conditions abroad, which he believes gives them an edge over India.

“The way Pakistan have been playing recently (beating Australia in Australia and beating South Africa) shows their strength, especially in overseas conditions. Based on their recent performances, I think Pakistan will have an advantage against India.” Amir said as quoted by Cricket Pakistan.

Amir highlights Jasprit Bumrah’s absence as a major concern for India

While acknowledging India’s success story in major tournaments, Amir noted that the Indian team is facing increasing pressure following recent setbacks. He highlighted concerns about the suitability of jasprit bumrahIndia’s star pacer, who is currently recovering from a back injury and is expected to miss the opening phase of CT 2025. Amir suggested that Bumrah’s absence could significantly weaken India’s bowling attack.

“It will be a big loss for India if Bumrah is not there. He has been one of India’s best players, leading the pack from the front. Without it, the Indian bowling attack is reduced to 40-50 per cent strength.” Amir added.

Historically, India has dominated Pakistan in World Cup matches, maintaining a perfect winning record. However, Pakistan have performed well in the Champions Trophy, winning two of the five meetings between the two teams. In the last Champions Trophy match, the 2017 final, Pakistan beat India with a resounding 180-run victory, a match in which Amir played a crucial role in dismissing key Indian batsmen including Rohit Sharma (0), Virat Kohli (5), and Shikhar Dhawan (21).
