Yash Dayal’s absence from the Indian team for the upcoming T20I series against England has generated doubts among fans. The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) announced the squad on Saturday night, which included the return of Mohammed Shami but was missing Dayal.
The left-arm pacer replaced Khaleel Ahmed in India’s reserve pacer list during the recently concluded Border-Gavaskar Trophy and was also part of the 15-member team on the tour of South Africa.
Reasons for Yash Dayal’s exclusion
1.) Recent Performance and Selection Options: Dayal’s exclusion seems to be a strategic decision by the selectors, who opted for other players like Shami and Harshit Rana. The selection committee is likely to focus on players who have shown consistent performance in recent matches or who fit best into their plans for the England series and the next. ICC Champions Trophy.
2.) Team Composition: The BCCI’s decision to field a mix of experienced players and emerging talents means competition for spots is fierce. With Shami returning after a long injury layoff and other bowlers like Arshdeep Singh also being considered, Dayal may have found it difficult to secure a place in the final lineup.
