Barcelona wants to close an important contract in January

Barcelona are currently busy trying to register Dani Olmo and Pau Víctor as a matter of status this January, but have other important matters planned for this month. As well as chasing Bayer Leverkusen’s Jonathan Tah, Barcelona will try to sign Pedri to a new contract.

According to Sport, Barcelona intends to close this month a new contract for the Canarian until 2030. Once the drama of the registrations of Olmo and Víctor has been resolved, Barcelona, now in a situation of improving the salary limit after the sale of 100 million VIP boxes for the next 20 years at the Camp Nou, will seek to announce the Pedri operation, with talks for Gavi and Ronald Araujo to follow. They will also announce the agreement already agreed upon by Marc Bernal. The Catalan newspaper points out that Pedri is one of the few ‘untouchables’ currently in the Barça squad.

Regardless of tying Pedri down for four more years, that good news will be lost for Barcelona fans if they can’t play Olmo or Víctor for the rest of the season. However, the 22-year-old has been omnipresent for Hansi Flick this season, and his return to form has been the driving force behind his good form to start the season.
