Both Barcelona and AC Milan have shown interest in Manchester United’s Marcus Rashford, but while the Catalan side still retain some hope of signing the England international, the Rossoneri have turned their attention elsewhere. One of the names on their list is a Barcelona striker.
Maybe it’s not the one Barcelona expected. Ansu Fati has been left out of the squad for the last three matchdays for purely technical reasons and, despite invitations to seek more game time on loan, he seems determined to remain in Catalonia. In theory, that is also the case with his teammate Ferran Torres.

He is the object of Milan’s interest. After turning their attention away from Rashford, Torres is one of three names being considered by, say, GdS (via MD), along with another United striker, Rasmus Hojlund, and a former Barcelona striker, Joao Félix. They are interested in closing a loan with an option to buy, which could be mandatory depending on the number of games he plays.
No amounts are mentioned for the option, but they are willing to cover his entire salary for the rest of the season. For its part, the Catalan team has no intention of losing Torres for the remainder of the season, considering that he could be useful in the final stretch. Unless Milan’s offer is of great financial interest, they are unlikely to accept, so to speak. It is also noted that Torres has two and a half years left on his contract and half of his €55 million fee still needs to be repaid.
Barcelona only have Fati and Pau Victor alongside Torres as natural alternatives to their starting three forwards, and Hansi Flick seems unlikely to approve a departure unless it leads to reinforcements this month as well. Torres has dealt with injuries this season, but has a goal every 87 minutes in a Barcelona shirt this season.
