The president of Barcelona raises the flag to sign despite internal doubts about the star winger

Barcelona may be having difficulty signing them up, but their financial situation has not stopped them from looking for star signings. Next summer will not be an exception, as the Blaugrana are linked with a star signing on the front line.

One of the names that has been touted for the left wing position, along with Khvicha Kvaratskhelia and Nico Williams, is AC Milan star Rafael Leao. The Portuguese has fallen out with coach Paulo Fonseca, although they seem to have patched things up, but Marca says he could be for sale for more than €75 million.

Leao is a player who divides opinions at Can Barça. Agent Jorge Mendes is a keen promoter of Leao’s abilities and, given his close relationship with president Joan Laporta, it is perhaps unsurprising that Laporta is his biggest supporter within the club. However, others within the athletic department are not as interested in the 25-year-old. There are doubts about his attitude, although they value that he is a good player.

One of the previous arguments in favor of Leao is that he would give the Blaugrana a second player who could beat their man, in addition to Lamine Yamal. On the other hand, Leao often likes to “cheat” without the ball, which may not be suitable for Hansi Flick’s intense pressing system.
