Atlético de Madrid and Barcelona sign for 2024 with a battle for La Liga supremacy.
The Rojiblancos are chasing their first league victory in Barcelona since 2006 along with first place in the table.
The visitors have had problems in Catalonia, but they arrive in Catalonia in top form, with 11 consecutive victories in all competitions.
However, the weight of history is on their shoulders, with top spot in La Liga for the start of 2025 also on the agenda, with only goal difference separating the teams before kick-off.
Club president Enrique Cerezo offered his opinion on the rival in a wide-ranging interview with Diario Sport, and the 76-year-old believes the Blaugrana have a bright future ahead of them.
“Barça has the youngest team in Europe, it has magnificent players and a wonderful future,” he said.
“I really like Pedri and Gavi. I really like everyone on the team, from the goalkeeper to the forwards. I really like Lewandowski. “They are great players.”
A victory for Atlético de Madrid will put them above Barcelona at the top heading into 2025, but a draw will keep them level.
A draw could allow Real Madrid to overtake both teams and take the No. 1 spot if they win their final game of 2024.
