Liverpool maintain interest in the La Liga star with a release clause of 35 million euros

Girona parted ways with several important players last summer, despite qualifying for the 2024-25 Champions League. One player they managed to retain was Miguel Gutiérrez, although they may have a hard time doing so for much longer.

In recent weeks, interest in Gutiérrez’s services has been increasing. Real Madrid have him as an option to re-sign if they are left without Alphonso Davies, while Manchester United also enters the race. Now, CaughtOffside says Premier League leaders Liverpool have him on their left-back target list.

Gutiérrez, 23, has a release clause of 35 million euros, although Girona could accept a little less if Liverpool knocks on the door. However, Real Madrid have the biggest advantage as they can bring him back to the Santiago Bernabéu for just €8 million, as that is the value of his buy-back clause.

It appears that Girona will find it difficult to retain Gutiérrez’s services heading into next season, especially if they cannot secure European football. If he leaves, they would surely prefer him to end up in England.
