Carlo Ancelotti hints at his desire to remain at Real Madrid beyond the end of his contract

Real Madrid coach Carlo Ancelotti has indicated that he is as likely to extend his contract at the club as to terminate it. The Italian coach will leave Real Madrid at the top of La Liga if he wins on Friday, despite doubts about his future earlier in the season and rumors about his replacement.

AS Roma coach Claudio Ranieri, hired temporarily to turn things around at the Stadio Olimpico, has commented that he would like Ancelotti to succeed him. Ancelotti, however, distanced himself from that idea.

“I’m very good here. Ranieri [who stated that he wanted him next year as Giallorosso coach] He is a friend and is doing very well at Roma. I am very close to Roma. He is always in my memory. But I’m very close. I like it here. In Madrid when you win a title you already think about the next one. Now we think about the Super Cup. The Real Madrid circle never closes. This definitely motivates me.”

He has also been linked with the possibility of taking charge of a national team in recent times, with Brazil actively pursuing him prior to Dorival Junior’s appointment. Vcc once again said that his mind was in the present at Real Madrid.

“I like to train every day. So the issue of selection is complicated. Who knows if Real Madrid will be my last team? I have a two-year contract, but the contract can be terminated or renewed,” he told Radio Anch’io Sport, quoted by Marca.

Bayer Leverkusen coach Xabi Alonso is expected to replace Ancelotti, and during the Italian’s struggles in November, it looked like that could be next summer. However, both will end their contract in 2026 and it seems that that could be the probable date for a transition. However, if Ancelotti continues to be successful, it will be difficult to replace him.
